Meet Anna.

My earliest memories in life are of being active, playing outdoors with my siblings, and dreaming of an adventure. My favorite moments often happen when I am outdoors connecting with God through nature and with others.  Movement is my act of worship to a good Creator. Exercise is not a punishment, but a stewardship.

It is a part of my Eremos.

Eremos: quiet place, wilderness

In 2002 I took my first Personal Training certification exam so that I could begin working with clients while working towards my degree.  I graduated from UW-LaCrosse in 2004 with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in Fitness. I’ve continued to learn and grow since then.  In addition to Personal Training, I hold certifications in Stott Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness, CORE, BARRE, TRX, and Youth Exercise.

I am passionate about movement for all abilities in all stages and seasons of life.
I LOVE seeing people reach their goals and feel more alive in each year of life.

I’ve worked in a variety of roles– large name-brand fitness clubs, corporate wellness centers, in-home personal training, corporate fitness consulting, online fitness training, and community education.  I never thought I’d teach group fitness, but here I am! In college I fell in love with the camaraderie that I saw in group classes.  I joke that I teach anything except Zumba.  I cannot dance, but I love teaching progressive weight lifting, TRX, pilates, and cycling. The accountability and fun that come with a group class are the best! Pilates was a complete surprise for me. As an athlete I thought Pilates was for dancers and gymnasts only. My roommate in college took me to an advanced class and I about died! It was so hard…and I was hooked. I quickly noticed that my posture, balance, and flexibility improved. I started to have less back and hip pain. Pilates has always been a part of my life— it carried me through a major back injury in 2010 and three pregnancies. It has helped me stay mobile and strong to do the things I want to do outside of the gym. Most recently, Pilates helped me recover from a nasty ankle sprain that happened on a Boundary Water backpacking trip.

It was a dream come true to open the Eremos Wellness Studio for private classes and personal training in 2023.  I currently offer small-group and private mat pilates classes, personal training, and small-group weightlifting and TRX. In addition to Eremos Studio, I have volunteered with Thrive Women’s Outdoor Adventures, and as a PE/Movement Instructor for our homeschool group.

While I’ve completed marathons, triathlons, backpacking trips, trail races, and multiple Grand Canyon Rim to Rim hikes, I always say that my biggest athletic achievement has been becoming a Mom. Every element of motherhood from pregnancy to newborn sleep to being an active parent requires many of the skills I’ve learned in sport and fitness. Motherhood has pushed me physically and emotionally more than any of those other physical accomplishments. I see how movement in the season of motherhood helps me to be a more calm and patient person.   Raising my three unique kiddos has also pushed me to become more passionate about childhood fitness, movement, sensory needs, and nervous system regulation.

I hope to move with you in the studio soon.

Meet Lisa.

Hi, there! I'm Lisa, and I’m so excited to be your Pilates instructor.

I first discovered Pilates around 2010. I loved how each workout was both challenging and energizing—it always left me feeling stronger. Fast forward to 2018, when I started attending classes with Anna. I was so grateful to be guided by her deep knowledge and incredible coaching style. At that time, I had just finished a tough year battling Lymphoma and Pilates became a wonderful way to rejuvenate my body during my recovery.

As a cancer survivor, Pilates has been more than just a way to get back in shape—it’s been a journey of rediscovering my strength and reconnecting with my body in a healthy way. Over the years, I’ve kept at it, gradually increasing the intensity of my practice while always listening to what my body needs. It’s been a slow, steady process, but that’s how I’ve built real strength, all while being kind and mindful of my body’s limits.

Now, Pilates is a key part of my overall fitness routine. Whether I'm hitting the gym, going for a run, or even hiking with a weighted backpack, Pilates is there to support me every step of the way.

I’m thrilled to share this amazing practice with you and help you find your own strength, balance and well-being. I can't wait to meet you on the mat!

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me spending time with my wonderful family (my husband, four kids, and one daughter-in-law), volunteering at church or school, hiking with friends or planning my next backpacking adventure
